Essay: Half way to being dead

Kidding! But this essay is a good example of how we're all in the same boat: I need to practice and work with all of the skills that I teach you folks. Sometimes I get into a negative way of thinking, too, and need to dig my way out!

My writing

This page contains links to essays, tips, and book reviews. It's my hope that this material is useful in and of itself. Also, reading these write-ups can give you a feel for my Life Coaching approach.

My blog

Click here to read my blog: Relaxing into happiness. A blog is an online diary or journal. I use my blog to offer mood-improving tips, to work through ideas in a way that lets people comment as I develop them, to provide article and book reviews, and to offer musings about the counseling professions.

For those of you who have never read a blog and need some guidance, here are a few tips:

  • Journal entries appear newest to oldest reverse chronological order. When you first view the blog, you see the most recent entries on top.
  • When you first view an entry, it usually shows you only the first few paragraphs followed by a "Read more..." link, which may be worded differently. Click the "Read more..." link to read the full entry.
  • Whenever you see a calendar, the days whose numbers are in bold font are days on which I created a journal entry. Click the bold number to see that day's entries.
  • To see older entries, click the Archive link at the top of the page. Then, click a bolded day on one of the calendar pages to see that day's entries.
  • To return to the initial blog page, click the title Relaxing into happiness.
  • To write a comment about one of my journal entries, click the Leave a comment link, located toward the bottom of the journal entry.
  • To view this web site from the blog, click the Gerry's counseling site link, located in the tool bar along the left side of the page, toward the top.
